Gunner
is a 5 yr old tri color border collie. He is tall, lean and
very athletic. I rescued him from
Northern California Border
Collie Rescue in November of 2003, he was all I had wanted
from the beginning, over the top and back again. Gunner
competes in flyball, dock diving and extreme/super vertical.
He has dabbled in herding, agility and lure coursing as
well.
Gunner has a been in the top four of most of the
competitions he has competed in since July of 2006. He averages 23 feet and has a
personal best in dock diving of 25 feet, set in August of
2006. As a team, we are still putting things together, he's
got the speed (he's been clocked at 33 mph for his stand in
handler, Brian Sardo), he's got the strength, he just needs
to work a little harder on his down stay and I need to work
my throw All in all, 23 foot average is not bad for a team
still working to put it all together.
He has just begun competing in Vertical jumping, only four
competitions under his belt. He hit his current personal
best of 6'10" at the Splash Dog's Championships in
Scottsdale in November 2006 and has hit it at every
competition since then. To date he is the top jumping border
Collie in the sport of Vertical in the World, yes the
World..... I know once he gets past the 6'10" mark he will
gain even more confidence and will be a force to reckon with
along side his teammate, Stryker.
